On-Premise License

Change in Kansas Liquor Laws:

In May 2010, the Kansas Legislature has made amendments to the Kansas Liquor Control Act and the Kansas Club and Drinking Establishment Act to allow liquor licenses to change from a 1 year license term to a 2 year license term effective July 1, 2010 except for Drinking Establishments which will become 2 year licenses effective July 1, 2011.

When you apply for a new liquor license or renew your existing license, except drinking establishments, this year, it will be for a 2 year license term instead of 1 year license term. The license fee has been adjusted accordingly.

You will have the option to either:

  • pay the license fee and the registration fee in full or
  • pay half of the license fee plus the registration fee with your application and pay the remaining half of the license fee plus a 10% surcharge within one year from the date your license was issued. Note: If you do not pay your remaining license fee and the 10% surcharge when it is due, your license will automatically be cancelled.
